PROGRESS
REPORT-
CAPITAL/ENDOWMENT CAMPAIGN
Mr. Howard
Benson, C.E.O. of National Community Development, Atlanta, Georgia, has
reported to the board the preliminary results of their study on the feasibility
of conducting a campaign in the Concho Valley Council in August and September.
His report was based on incomplete data, as their representative was not
able to interview all those on his list. He did commit that they
would return to the council and complete the process. His report
showed strong support for Scouting and the interviews would have to be
completed before a formal report could be issued.
Properties Committee
The properties
committee is working to complete its study of all properties and make recommendations
as to future development needs. The National Office is providing
an engineer to survey Camp Sol Mayer and that report is due by December
1, 1999. His preliminary report indicated that attention should be
required to installing an irrigation system at camp and watering
trees and campsites. He indicated that we should landscape and plant
grass in all program and headquarters areas.
